4 days - 35 countries - 80 associations - 75 international delegates

ISIPE is an international network of student groups standing for pluralism in the teaching of Economics. It was created on the 5th of May, 2014 via an open letter translated into 14 languages and signed by more than 80 student groups in 32 countries, as well as by renowned economists from diverse backgrounds. It acknowledged the narrowness of spirit of economics courses, disconnected from debates and new challenges, especially those posed by the 2008 crisis. This narrowness - strongly felt by the students and denounced by many economists - it is not inevitable and the solution is a pluralistic approach: to teach and let a dialogue develop between different theories; to diversify tools at hand and to build bridges to other disciplines; to combine technical skills and critical thinking.

Hosted by the French student group PEPS-Economie and organized by all the associations, the Second International meeting of ISIPE student group shall take place on the 25-28 March in Paris at the ENS Cachan and EHESS campus, where international students as well as stakeholders from institutions and universities will gather to debate and to formulate alternatives. This year’s highlight will be the presentation to the press and the public of our most ambitious project so far: a detailed survey of the content of Economics degrees in 12 countries. This is an extension of survey of Economics degrees in France done by PEPS-Economie in 2012. Teachers, students or anyone interested can attend our public session, during which the results will be released and discussed with experts.
